What Are We Drinking?

Double barrel Bourbon Whisky from Brickway Brewery and Distillery in Omaha, the city’s first distillery since prohibition. Old Fashioned.

Old Fashioned recipe:
2 oz. Rye or Bourbon
½ oz proof Old Fashioned syrup
¼ orange
2 woodford reserve Bourbon cherries

  • Muddle ¼ orange and 1 bourbon cherry
  • Remove orange rind and cherry from shaker
  • Add ½ oz Proof Syrup and 2 oz Rye or Bourbon. Shake well.
  • Pour over ice. Garnish with one bourbon cherry and orange twist.

We may not notice it daily, but our city and our state are constantly changing – and these changes often directly impact us as residents. This week, I am sitting down with real estate expert Richard Meginnis and legal professional David Levy for an in-depth discussion about the development of Lincoln. We get into the art of risk-taking, the challenges, the opportunities, what it takes to work as a visionary and so much more.
